Most embarrassing moment? I sprained my ankle doing the Cupid Shuffle at Kids Camp… as a counselor.

Favorite TV show? Survivor! I have seen every season, and would love to go on the show but I know I wouldn’t last a day!

Favorite board game? Ticket to Ride or Clue

Our Family Life Pastor, Brooklynn Ballenger, is from Newark, Ohio. She has been a pastor’s kid and part of the Nazarene church her whole life. Brooklynn is the middle child of her two siblings.  She graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2024 with a degree in Christian Ministries with a focus in Youth and Family Ministry. She has been serving in children’s ministry since she was 11 years old and in youth ministry since graduating high school.

Brooklynn accepted her call to ministry during her freshman year of college, though she knows the Lord had been calling her since those early years of serving. She has been a part of district events for South Central Ohio for several years, and has served on Kids Camp staff and helped assist the leaders at Winter Retreat and Summer Camp for the teens.

Brooklynn is passionate about building relationships with kids, teens, and their families, and leading them to grow relationships with Christ. She loves telling stories, especially the stories in Scripture. Brooklynn loves to teach by finding new and creative ways to engage kids and teens. She also enjoys leading (and playing) games with families. When she is not working, Brooklynn loves to read, write stories and poems, go on walks, and play board games with family and friends.
